GOOD STEPS TO LEARN AND DRIVE A CAR

Good Steps to Learn and Drive a Car
           1. Many people are thinking that suddenly they can become experts to drive a car. Driving a car requires the basic common sense but that attitude leads to complacency and ends in being dangerous. Learn to drive, drive to learn & drive safely. Haste is waste. Always safety comes first and speed comes next.
            2. You can take a course in driving the car or you may learn on your own. Remember it is always better to join in a driving school and practice the car driving at least one month.  There are good fundamentals that hold you in good stead when you are learning to drive a car. The first one is to know about the equipment, so just sit in the driver’s seat, learn & listen to someone to describe all of the parts to you in the car.
            3. The items that you need to know about the car include the i) Ignition, ii) the Steering wheel, iii) the Accelerator, iv) the Brake, v) the Clutch (ABC)  vi) the Gear system, vii) the hand brake (parking brake), viii) the turn-signals (indicators), ix) the lights, x) the seat-belt & xi) all about the mirrors. It is basic because every-one has to know these basic things. Know the traffic rules, the traffic signs & the road signs. Go slow. Remember knowledge is power.
            4. An experienced instructor or expert car driver has to take for a short drive in a parking lot or where there is no traffic (preferably a big ground) to just get used to use all of the above mentioned items while you are actually moving in a car on the road.  Have the real & actual road driving experience.  Remember good driving is a good skill.
            5. Learn how to begin from standing stop, start the car with ignition key & how to press & release the clutch, with the left foot toes. Know the difference between the full clutch (zero position) and the half clutch (50% release). The clutch connects and disconnects the gear box and the engine. Remember to apply full clutch to 0-0 position to change the gear every time.  Learn to turn the manual gears- neutral, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & R to increase or decrease the speed with the left hand.  The different speeds of the gears per hour are- 1st gear 0-10 km, 2nd gear 10-20 km, 3rd gear 30-40 km, 4th gear 40-60 km and the 5th gear 60-80 km. Apply 2nd  gear near the speed breakers. (If you want to apply sudden break to avoid accident at 80 km. press the break and push the clutch and turn to 2nd gear, to decrease the speed to 10 km. The car breaks are hydraulic breaks). The gear lever divides the car into two equal parts. So, the gear lever is the central point of the car.  Practice to press & release the accelerator with the right foot toes, to start slowly & to increase the speed gradually. Know and understand the clutch+gear+acceleration combination perfectly and practice clutch+gear+acceleration combination frequently. Use the right foot toes to press & release the brake correctly, when you wish to slow down or stop. Use the left hand to apply the hand- brake up (to lock) & down (to unlock) properly, use the lights, use the left signal (up) & right signal (down) of the car. Place both hands on the car’s steering wheel in a good 9 & 3 position & turn in the clock-wise direction (to the right) & turn in the anti-clock-wise (to the left) direction properly. In third and fourth gears one has to turn the steering 2 to 5 cms., either right or left in normal driving conditions depending on the road conditions. Practice frequently to place right hand on the steering wheel (to steer) & practice to place the left hand on the gear knob (to change the gears).  Learn how to blow the horn. Remember practice makes a man perfect.
            6. Learn to drive the car in the reverse (R) direction and at the U- turns.  Learn to turn the car to the left, right, straight & practice in each and every direction-360 degrees. See the road and turn the steering accordingly in the same direction of the road. Remember to park the car exactly at the right place either at house or at any other place.  Learn to look at the mirrors, the mirror in the middle of the wind-shield & the two on each side of the car to see what is coming from behind. Learn how to use and when to use the turn signals, down to the right side and up to the left side & use the lights of the car at night time.  Learn to open & close all the doors of the car properly & remember to close & lock the door when you get down from the car. Check the entire car once daily.  Preview & review about your driving daily.
           7. When you practice the car driving try to have a perfect control on the car all the time & be alert.  Gain the ability to manage various controls in the car. Learn what speed is the best for each situation & learn how to escape if an emergency arises.  Learn the theory & put the theory into practice by word and deed. Practice good driving habits & good safety norms. Plan to drive and drive according to the plan.  A road-map with different directions & important places and halts is a great tool to drive a car safely from the starting point to the destination and vice-versa. Try the following powerful auto-suggestions and repeat them as many times as possible to realise great miracles in your life.
